Summer holiday in the Salzburger Saalachtal
Active world of experience for young and old
The magical power of water
Whether still or sparkling, water has a very special attraction for children. At the ‘wild bathing spots’, for example, you can cool off wonderfully on a hot summer’s day during your hike or e-bike tour. Whether it’s a tour along the lively flowing Saalach, through the rushing gorges or along clear mountain streams, the water has plenty to offer in the Salzburger Saalachtal. And very daring kids can ride down the waves of the Saalach on a rafting tour or take the path through the water on a canyoning tour, abseiling and cool jumps included.
The route is the reward
Not just hiking – in the Salzburger Saalachtal, the journey is the destination is the goal. On the various adventure trails such as the Stone Age Trail, on the 4 hiking golf rounds or hiking along the water, such as the waterfall trail Waterfall Trail, your kids won’t even notice that they are ‘hiking’. Of course, you can also stop off for a Kaiserschmarren or a hearty snack on a mountain pasture or climbing a summit.
On the pedals, get set, go
Over 100 rental e-bikes – also for children, of course, 24 charging stations spread across the entire region, bike-friendly accommodation, guided bike tours and, above all, 480 kilometres of signposted bike trails form the framework for your bike holiday. From a children’s trail in a gorge, forest roads up to beautiful alpine pastures, to the Tauern cycle path to the surrounding villages – there are no limits to your children’s wishes here.
For climbing enthusiasts
Of course, a wide variety of climbing tours for beginners and pros await you in the region. What’s special, however, is that children from the age of 5 can get a taste of climbing on the ‘Gams Kitz’ climbing route or the low ropes course at Natur.Parkour.
